Red5 Cloud Privacy Information

Red5 Cloud prioritizes the privacy and security of our users’ data. This page provides an overview of the types of data we store, how it is used, and the measures we take to protect it. Our goal is to ensure transparency and help you understand how your information is managed within the Red5 Cloud Platform.

Types of Data Stored

Red5 Cloud stores a variety of data to ensure the smooth operation and management of your streaming services. This includes:

  • Administrator Information: Basic account details such as usernames, email addresses, and contact information are stored to facilitate access to the Red5 Cloud Management Console and support services.
  • Usage Data: We collect data on how the services are used, including connection logs, bandwidth usage, and performance metrics. This helps us monitor system health, optimize performance, and provide insights for better user experiences.
  • Streaming Data: Metadata related to streaming sessions, such as stream identifiers, timestamps, and viewer statistics, is collected to manage streaming sessions, ensure quality of service, and support analytics. Viewer IP addresses are captured during this process and are used for security and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Configuration Data: Details about your deployment settings, node configurations, and scheduling preferences are stored to manage and automate your streaming infrastructure efficiently.
  • Backups: Regular backups of your data are stored to ensure data integrity and facilitate disaster recovery in case of system failures.

Data Usage

The data we collect is used primarily to enhance and support your streaming services. Specific uses include:

  • Service Improvement: Usage and performance data help us identify areas for improvement, optimize resource allocation, and enhance the overall functionality of our platform.
  • Support and Maintenance: User and configuration data allow our support team to assist you more effectively and ensure your deployments run smoothly.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Streaming and usage data are utilized to provide detailed analytics and reports, helping you understand viewer behavior, stream performance, and overall service efficiency.

Data Protection Measures

Ensuring the security of your data is a top priority. Red5 Cloud implements several measures to protect your information:

  • Encryption: All sensitive data is encrypted both in transit and at rest, ensuring that it remains secure from unauthorized access.
  • Access Controls: Strict access controls are in place to ensure that only authorized personnel have access to your data. User roles and permissions are carefully managed to protect sensitive information.
  • Regular Audits: We conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities in our systems.
  • Compliance: Red5 Cloud adheres to relevant data protection regulations and industry standards to ensure the privacy and security of your data.

Data Lifecycle

Logging and Backups are stored for 90 days. After this period, the data is automatically deleted from our systems. This retention policy helps us maintain system performance and compliance with data protection regulations. Information in your account, such as configuration settings and deployment details, is retained as long as your account is active. If you choose to close your account, you can request that your data be permanently deleted from our systems.

Data Access

Access to this data is restricted to only the personnel who require it to provide support, maintenance, and monitoring services. Each of these roles has specific access to the data that is needed to perform their job functions and no more than that. We do not share your data with third parties unless required by law or for the provisioning of specific services (e.g., payment processing). In such cases, we ensure that appropriate data protection agreements are in place to safeguard your information.

Data Residency

Account data and configuration information are stored in secure data centers located in the United States. Red5 Cloud ensures that these data centers comply with industry standards for security and data protection. Additionally, data can be stored and processed in other regions based on your deployment settings and regional preferences. Cloud video storage occurs in the storage account you configure in the Red5 Cloud Management Console, where this data is stored is based on the settings of that storage account.

Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy provides additional detailed information on how we collect, use, and protect your data. We encourage you to review this policy to understand your rights and responsibilities when using Red5 Cloud services.
