What’s New in Red5 Cloud v1.12.0?

Announced on December 31, 2025, the Red5 Cloud v1.12.0 update introduced the following features and bug fixes. 

New Features

PubNub integration

Red5 Cloud is now powered by PubNub, bringing a global real-time data network directly into the platform. This integration combines Red5’s sub-250 ms video delivery with PubNub’s reliable, low-latency messaging infrastructure so developers can synchronize video, interactions, and state changes across millions of users in real time.

With PubNub, applications can support chat, reactions, presence, user state, collaborative actions, and other event-driven features that stay perfectly aligned with the video stream. Developers no longer need to manage their own signaling or build real-time data pipelines from scratch. Instead, they can rely on PubNub’s worldwide edge network for predictable performance and Red5 Cloud for high-quality video that remains in sync across all clients.

This pairing enables a wide range of high-value use cases such as interactive commerce, live auctions, fan engagement, multiplayer workflows, collaborative streaming tools, and real-time dashboards where every millisecond matters. TrueTime Meetings

TrueTime Meetings introduces a feature-rich video conferencing solution built directly into Red5 Cloud, giving developers, startup, and enterprises a seamless way to host high-quality, real-time virtual meetings. It supports smooth video conferencing with collaboration tools like screen sharing, emoji reactions, hand raising, live chat, and media controls. Meetings can be recorded for later review, and participants can join easily through a shared link.

Organizations can customize the experience with their own branding, deploy dedicated environments, and access meetings directly through the TrueTime Apps section in the Red5 Cloud dashboard. Red5 Pro users can also use TrueTime Meetings by downloading the source and deploying it themselves. TrueTime Meetings works across desktop and mobile devices, making it suitable for business meetings, internal collaboration, webinars, and virtual events.

Perhaps the most important aspect of TrueTime Meetings is its flexibility to be integrated into existing workflows. New UI to display usage

An updated UI now makes it easier to track your usage inside Red5 Cloud. The updated report provides clearer visibility into consumption so you can monitor your workloads and stay in control of your costs.

Stream from Camera now opens in a new browser window

To streamline testing and improve usability, the Stream from Camera feature now opens in a separate browser window. This makes it easier to preview camera streams, test configurations, and run workflows without navigating away from your main project view. 

Fixed

• Max Users can no longer be set to zero.
• Copy link in camera screen now respects node group selection.

What’s New in Red5 Pro v15.1.0?

Here is what you need to know about the Red5 Pro v15.1.0 update announced on December 3, 2025. 

New Features

• Conference API now included in Stream Manager.

Improvements

• Mixer Performance Metrics, including API.
• AWS Security Improvements using IAM roles.

What’s New in Red5 Pro v15.1.1?

Here is what you need to know about the Red5 Pro v15.1.1 update announced on December 23, 2025. 

New Features

• Stream Manager Docker files now use log rotation.

Improvements

• ICE negotiations are now more reliable on less stable networks.
• Server stability when processing many concurrent subscriber arrivals.
• Mixer metrics dashboard.
• HEVC or H264 with B-frames over Zixi pull or SRT no longer choppy.

Bug Fixes

• Repaired memory leak around ABR shifting that caused cluster edges to fault.
• Can now subscribe to streams published via Multicast/Unicast/SRT restreamer.
• Transcoder variants no longer freeze after 1 hour for RTMP, RTSP, and WebRTC.
• Thumbnails now properly created for recorded streams in Stream Manager.
• Unable to stream to Facebook.
• Unable to stream to Twitch.

Known Issues

• Publishing WHIP/RTMP with Videon not working with Red5 Pro.
• Push-type ZIXI-PUSH is currently not working.
