It’s 2018; the start of a New Year and new beginnings. Sooo… how many resolutions have you broken already?
It’s more than that though. The New Year is a time for reflection as well and 2017 continued to display the importance of live streaming and it’s continued impact on our lives.
Latency was important last year (as demonstrated by all these companies announcing “low latency” solutions) and will only increase in importance in this year.
Two seconds just won’t cut it anymore.
Around the world, a central feature of a New Year celebration is the countdown to the New Year itself. It’s a well-loved, incremental chant culminating in a singular, universal moment of celebration.
Unless of course, your countdown is ahead of your friends in which case your celebratory text, live from New York City’s time square, comes ahead of the television coverage.
5…4…3…2- Happy New Year!
That’s not how it’s supposed to work. The time has come for real-time live streaming.
Though our under 500 ms latency is one of the lowest in the industry, in this age of instant communication, we strive for a future with zero latency.
We imagine the ability to live stream from self-driving cars, with a 40G connection. Perhaps even a negative latency where you can stream the future. Alright, maybe we’re getting ahead of ourselves.
Either way, we here at Red5 Pro wish you a happy and prosperous New Year! We certainly hope to help with the prosperity part, so give us a call and let us know about your ideas for 2018 and beyond.
