NAB Show 2022 has come and gone and the feedback from everyone we spoke with was unanimous: NAB was a success! Although attendance was down from years past, everyone felt that this resulted in more quality interactions. Attendees, as a whole, seemed more focused and were able to make a lot of connections with like-minded people and companies.
We thought we would take a moment to share some of our highlights and observations.
In addition to demoing in the AMD, V-Nova, and Net Insight booths, we had more than 25 meetings with other potential partners. The partners and vendors we spoke to were equally busy, and there was a general excitement from everyone about all the great projects underway from across the industry. Stay tuned to see what’s coming next! Thankfully, what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there…
NAB Show was canceled the past two years due to the pandemic and a lot of changes have taken place in the industry over that time. Those changes became glaringly obvious this year due to a radical shift in show floor space from traditional broadcast, cable, and satellite transmission to IP delivery, the internet, live low latency, real-time, and interactivity. It seems that Marc Andreessen’s assertion that “software is eating the world” rings even more true over a decade later.

It’s not clear whether this was a tide shift or a sign of the times, but we also noted that many of the truly innovative things were happening outside of the convention center. Private suites afforded for some fascinating demonstrations and conversations.
We were thrilled that our customers StageConnect and Eventuall were both nominated in multiple categories for NAB Product of Year awards. StageConnect took home the trophy in the Digital Signage and Display System category for their StageConnect Pro cloud-based audience interaction platform. Congrats to both of these forward-thinking companies!
Fun and Noteworthy
The new West Hall at the Convention Center seems to be the new hot spot for streaming-related tech. It has an amazing sleek design and it’s a lot of fun to ride in Teslas in the Boring Company Loop to get there.
Our time in Vegas wasn’t all work. Our team also found time to practice their golf swings and have a little fun.

When asked about his NAB experience, Chris Allen, Red5 Pro CEO, said, “It was amazing to see old friends and finally meet others in person who we had only interacted with via video chat for years. It was also exciting to note that real-time video latency and WebRTC have moved from niche categories to things almost everyone needs today. We made some good early bets as a company that are playing out perfectly now. It was nice to have that validated at NAB.”
