What’s New in Red5 Cloud v1.9.0?

Announced on May 19, 2025, the Red5 Cloud v1.9.0 update introduced new features and valuable enhancements. Here is what you need to know about this update.

New Features

• Automatic node scaling can now be triggered by CPU load and memory usage instead of publisher/subscriber count. More accurate and efficient resource scaling based on actual system performance.
• Dynamic preprocessing. Detects and transcodes video into proper h.264 format. For example, transcodes your incoming H.265 streams to H.264, converts non-baseline profile videos with b-frames to baseline, etc. It only preprocesses when needed and is currently available via API.
• Deploy Brew Mixer via Cloud UI.

Enable Brew Mixer in Red5 Cloud by toggling on “Mixer” at the bottom of the Deployment Settings.

Bug Fixes and Enhancements

• Scheduled deployments restart properly.
• Publish and Subscribe URLs on Streams have more associated information.
• “Test” button on Streams page is not active if there is no active stream.

Red5 Pro HTML5 SDK v14.2.0 was released on May 21, 2025.
