HTML5 and Fallbacks
QUESTION:
What platforms fall under HTML-5? What does Red5 Pro use for fallbacks?
ANSWER:
HTML-5 uses WebRTC for publishing and subscribing live streams. Note: you cannot use WebRTC for recording and VOD playback. It is for live streaming ONLY.
If WebRTC is not available, it will fallback to Flash or HLS which can both be used for live streaming or VOD. However, you cannot publish using HLS. You can only use HLS to subscribe.
