We are excited to announce that Steve Newcomb has joined the Red5 Pro Board of Directors. We see this as a benchmark in our trajectory towards being recognized as an industry leader.
Steve has founded four companies, all funded by tier one venture capital firms. He is most known for founding Powerset, which he sold to Microsoft and is now known as Microsoft Bing. Beyond his experience as a founder, Steve has also served on the board of directors of two of the largest open-source projects in the world and has served as a Senior Fellow at the UC Berkeley School of Engineering and Haas School of Business.
We asked Steve what drew him to Red5 Pro and he shared, “First and foremost, I’m excited about the Red5 team. They’ve built an innovative developer-focused product that many major companies rely on and they’ve done so with minimal resources. I’ve scaled several companies in the past to successful exits, and I’m excited to help propel Red5 Pro to that next level.”
Steve brings with him a wealth of knowledge and relationships that will help us scale our team, our business, and our fundraising efforts. From his engineering background to his leadership skills, we know he’ll be a major asset at this phase of our growth.
