We’re excited to share the release of our CoreSDK. The Red5 Pro Core SDK is a cross-platform suite of libraries with a C++ Application Programming Interface (API). Full documentation, including code examples, can be found in our development library.

Highlighted features include:

  • Native C++ Code: Written in native C++ code for performance
  • Ground Up Rewrite: Completely redesigned and re-written
  • Linux, Windows and MacOS (Intel, M-Series): Works on all major desktop platforms
  • Modular Design: Designed to allow easy extensions and new features
  • Comprehensive Examples: Detailed examples showing how to use the various features
  • RTMP protocol support
  • RTSP (UDP and TCP) protocol support
  • WebRTC protocol suppoort
  • OPUS Audio over RTSP protocol support
  • Stream Manager Integration: Uses the Stream Manager to assign the appropriate origin or edge when publishing or subscribing
  • Use of hardware acceleration: Improved performance for 4k and 60fps videos
  • Ability to send Metadata: Send metadata with the stream to provide an additional level of details, such as sending sports scores with the sports video stream.
  • Subscribe: Connect to Red5 Pro and play a video
  • Publish raw audio/video: Publish raw audio/video frames to Red5
  • Publish MP4 containers: Publish MP4 files from your system
  • Publish Camera and Microphone: Publish using the camera and microphone connected to your system
  • Publish Screen: Publish the screen from your system
